Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 August 2026
This policy explains what information Joshua Hidden Software Developer (ABN 20 680 823 130) collects through joshuahidden.com, why it is collected, and what happens to it. It is written to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and it also sets out the rights available to visitors in the EU and UK under the GDPR.
The short version: this site has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The only personal information collected is what you type into the contact form, and that is used solely to reply to you.
Information collected
The contact form. Submitting the form at /contact/ sends your name, email address, subject and message. All four are required — nothing else is requested, and there is no file upload.
Server logs. This site runs on Cloudflare, which records standard request metadata — IP address, user agent, timestamp and the URL requested — to serve traffic, apply rate limits and mitigate attacks. These logs are generated and retained by Cloudflare under its own privacy policy, and are not combined with contact form submissions or used to build any profile of you.
No analytics and no advertising. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising network, no social pixel and no third-party tracking script of any kind on this site. No advertising partners exist, and no information is sold, rented or shared for marketing purposes.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies. Your light or dark theme preference is saved
in localStorage in your own browser so the site does not flash the wrong
theme on your next visit. That value never leaves your device and is never sent to any
server. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
How the contact form is handled
The form posts to a Cloudflare Worker, which validates the fields and hands the message to Cloudflare Email Service for delivery to a private mailbox. The submission is not written to any database — there is no data store behind this site. Once the email is delivered, the only remaining copy is the message sitting in an email inbox, where it is kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting work, then deleted.
The form includes a hidden field that real visitors never see. If it is filled in, the submission is discarded as automated and no email is sent.
Submissions are also checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, which confirms the form was submitted by a person rather than a bot. Turnstile is a privacy-preserving alternative to a CAPTCHA: it does not profile you across sites and does not use your data for advertising.
Who your information is shared with
Only the service providers needed to run the site and deliver your message:
- Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, edge security and email delivery. Some processing occurs outside Australia, on servers in the region nearest the visitor.
- The email provider hosting the destination mailbox — which receives and stores your message so it can be read and replied to.
Nothing is disclosed to anyone else unless required by law, or unless you ask for an introduction or referral as part of an engagement.
Your rights
You can ask, at any time, to:
- access the personal information held about you, and receive a copy
- have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected
- have your information deleted
- restrict or object to how your information is used, or ask for it in a portable format (GDPR)
There is no charge for any of these requests, and they are answered within 30 days. In practice, a deletion request means the emails you sent are deleted from the mailbox.
If you are unhappy with the outcome, Australian visitors can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. EU and UK visitors can complain to their local data protection authority.
Children
This site offers professional services to businesses and is not directed at children. No information is knowingly collected from anyone under 16. If a child has sent a message through the contact form, get in touch and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
Any future changes will be published on this page with an updated date at the top. There is no mailing list, so this page is the only place changes are announced.
Contact
For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights above, get in touch through the contact form. Please mention that your enquiry relates to privacy so it can be handled promptly.
