A brief introduction
As an experienced full-stack software engineer, I work autonomously to achieve the intended results with minimal direction. I am a very quick learner, picking up new concepts with ease. I enjoy being challenged and working on projects that require me to work outside my comfort and knowledge set, and continuing to learn new languages and techniques.
My Work

I design and develop custom web applications using Laravel, PHP and MySQL, ranging from enterprise business platforms and customer portals through to booking systems and bespoke business solutions. I build for scale with WebSockets, Redis caching, background queues, scheduled jobs and event-driven architecture, working in Git-based workflows across managed DEV, TEST and PROD environments.
I design and develop full custom WordPress websites, including custom themes, custom PHP plugins and payment integrations. When I build a website I focus on mobile optimisation, site performance and SEO optimisation. I currently manage over 50 websites, performing monthly maintenance, security checks and backups.
I design, deploy and maintain cloud-hosted Linux infrastructure for modern web applications. Working primarily with Ubuntu virtual machines across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, I configure NGINX, Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL, Redis, Node.js, Composer and SSL certificates for secure, high-performance hosting. I am proficient with WHM, cPanel, CWP, Plesk and bare VPS, handling LAMP and LEMP installs, Let’s Encrypt and Certbot, virtual hosts, database and PHP upgrades, and DNS via Cloudflare, GoDaddy or private nameservers. On the security side I work with Web Application Firewalls, DDoS prevention, whitelisting, traffic rules and proxies, coding under peer review with CSP, encryption and SSH keys — including security controls for IRAP and ISO.
I develop iOS & Android mobile applications using Xcode and Android Studio, written in Swift for iOS and Java for Android. I deploy and manage apps and certificates on Google Play and the Apple App Store, as well as manage app store presence. Typically I write the backend in PHP and set up an API-based transaction to the frontend using JSON calls, secured with API keys and header security.
